NECESSARY STORAGE
Core functionality is separate from optional analytics.
The site uses local browser storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. This preference is necessary to respect and persist your privacy choice and is not used to build an advertising profile.
The preference is stored locally under hvac-analytics-consent until you change it or clear browser storage.
OPTIONAL ANALYTICS
Google Analytics 4 loads only after consent.
When a production GA4 measurement ID is configured, the Google Analytics script is not loaded until you choose “Accept optional cookies.” If you reject them, the site does not initialize GA4 through this consent system.
After consent, GA4 may measure page views, referrer and campaign parameters, scan CTA clicks, scan progress, diagnosis completion, Decision Lab usage and software-fit interactions. Session attribution may also be stored in sessionStorage for the current browsing session after analytics consent. Free-text feedback comments and contact-form message content are not sent to analytics.
Advertising storage, Google Signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled in our GA4 configuration.
COOKIE & STORAGE TABLE
What may be stored.
- hvac-analytics-consent — local storage — remembers whether optional analytics was accepted or rejected — retained until changed or browser storage is cleared.
- hvac-organic-attribution — session storage, analytics only — remembers the current-session landing path, referrer and UTM attribution after analytics consent — removed when the browsing session ends or when analytics is rejected.
- _ga — Google Analytics, optional — distinguishes users after consent — configured by this site for up to 90 days.
- _ga_<container-id> — Google Analytics, optional — preserves session state after consent — configured by this site for up to 90 days.
CONTACT-FORM SECURITY
Cloudflare Turnstile protects the contact form.
The contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. This security service processes technical data necessary for the challenge. Our implementation does not use Turnstile for advertising and does not enable Turnstile pre-clearance.
Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not access, store or transmit user communications, form entries or other page inputs. If our Turnstile configuration changes in a way that changes browser storage, this policy will be updated before that change is used in production.
THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS
Analytics and security providers have their own processing terms.
Google provides optional analytics after consent. Cloudflare provides hosting, security and Turnstile. Their processing is subject to their applicable privacy and data-processing terms.
HOW TO WITHDRAW CONSENT
Rejecting later is as easy as accepting.
Use the preference control on this page to reject optional analytics at any time. Rejection updates the analytics consent state, stops future analytics events through this site's tracking layer, clears the current-session attribution record and attempts to expire first-party GA cookies created by this site. You can also clear cookies and site storage through your browser settings.
